This course will prepare you for a smooth transition into advanced periodontology in the esthetic zone.

The purpose of this course is to advance your understanding of soft and hard tissue grafting techniques to improve the treatment of patients that present with soft and hard tissue deficiencies around teeth and dental implants .
This two day class will expose the participant to the principles of soft and hard tissue grafting through interactive lectures, hands on presentations, and simulated skills training exercises that will improve your soft/hard tissue grafting techniques.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

– Describe step by step root coverage surgical procedures
– Describe step by step connective tissue graft harvesting technique
– Describe the difference between teeth and implant treatment
– Understand the principles of soft tissue grafting around teeth and dental implants and learn various predictable techniques to achieve an optimal esthetic and functional outcome
– Understand material selection for soft tissue grafting
– Management of Complications
– Understand the biology of the incorporation of the bone graft
– Understand the surgical anatomy of the floor of the mouth
– Learn the surgical principles of ridge augmentation surgery
– Learn the surgical principles of the reconstruction of the vestibule and keratinized tissue after ridge augmentation
– Learn the tension free closure of the flaps after ridge augmentation
– Management of complications and post-operative care
– Criteria for appropriate donor bone graft and membrane selection
– Diagnosis and treatment planning for GBR and Ridge Augmentation with implant using 3D images

DAY 1

8am – 5pm
Didactics on soft/hard tissue grafting and different grafting techniques and materials used around teeth and implants.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

DAY 2

8am- 3pm
Hands-on pig jaws and suturing lab, where you will apply all materials you learned in order to ace soft/hard tissue grafting.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
